Founder & Owner of
Kristi Swicegood Acupuncture
Kristi’s journey with Traditional Chinese Medicine began at the age of eleven when a persistent knee injury prevented her from her favorite pastime of roller-skating. Two acupuncture treatments cured Kristi's knee pain, and sparked within her a deep curiosity about the human body and what lies beyond our traditional understanding of physiology.
Pursuing her formal education in Chinese Medicine in 1999, Kristi received her Master's degree from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, becoming a board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist.
Specializing in chronic back pain and neck pain, Kristi also treats a wide array of illnesses in her practice including arthritis, sports injuries, insomnia, stress and anxiety, post-chemo-neuropathy, and IVF assistance. She uses acupuncture, heat-therapy, cupping, and Chinese herbal medicine to tailor each treatment to the patient’s specific needs.
Her philosophy is that therapeutic treatments should feel less like swallowing a pill and more like a luxury experience. She creates a relaxing environment for her patients with meditative music, infrared heat, soft lighting, and carefully selected acupuncture points to stimulate the "alpha" brain waves achieved in deep levels of meditation.
